Sugar, Spice and 5 types of Glitter

•May 13, 2008 • 4 Comments

An old project is being revived! Exciting. For all who love pink, sugary, aggressively kawaii stuff that leaves 5 different kinds of glitter on everything it touches, at least.

Toxic-cupcake is launching on Jul 1st 2007 with accessories in various degrees of pinkness from Tokyo, NYC and HK.

Doing up the shop site & look book now. BuzzinBuzy.

Almost hypocritically, I’m also part of a project, Teesers… which, to say the least, is anything but fluffyluffy. But I’ll only get to write about that in 2 or 3 days when the final bits of production wraps up.

Did these recently for the upcoming Sonny Liew (http://www.sonnyliew.com) course in school… they need a portfolio, I did four of these for the cover.

Was really looking forward to this. But of course, I missed the deadline for myself.

There really are some things I need start staying away from… :(

Theft proof Macbook

People around me have lost entire macbooks. (If you’re in ADM, you’ll know.) So I decided to invest in some 4 dollah theft proofing.

Being female is wonderful.

Macbook Battery = Hell

•March 3, 2008 • Leave a Comment

This is certainly not news to Mac users.

[Skip to the end for the battery calibration link.]

Over the past week (which happens to be term break), I’ve sold my soul to a business module which requires ever student to bring a laptop.(It’s a 24 hr marketplace stimulation class, but that’s another tale from hell I shall tell another day.)

It’s astounding how obvious it became that my Macbook battery is indeed a P.O.S. I can’t get one hour out of my beloved. This is sad, especially when that lenovo to my left is chugging reliably away for hours straight. In fact, this one girlfriend of mine, her mac’s battery life is 2 mins flat.

I swear, honest to blog.

And this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with my beloved’s not so beloved battery. Within days of ripping this very MacBook Pro out of it’s package, the battery failed on me completely. Apparently, it was part of a batch of defects. Once the battery level falls below a certain magical number, it pulls a kamikaze on you. Luckily, Mac sent me a replacement a week later. That replacement now has above mentioned battery life of less than one hour. Reasonable for a year-old lithium batt? I guess.

But still, I figured it’s time I ordered a new battery for backup sake anyways, in case I feel like geeking out at a starbucks anytime soon. So, with this opportunity for a fresh start, I’ve been busy calibrating my new battery.

Here’s some cool crucial articles about Macbook battery calibration : picture-2.jpg

Surveillance-Blogging?

For a while I did this project where I took a pic on my cellphone every one hour. Things were flicking by really quickly, so snapping was a way to leave bread crumbs I suppose.

Though I couldn’t possibly capture the flurry of the tasks that I had in my way, I could at least capture how quickly my immediate environment was shifting. I would leaf through my phone and be surprised I had already forgotten where I was 60mins ago.

The pics below are from this crazy point where I was flooded with those annoyingly high-grade-weightage school deadlines, responsibility from organizing this AIDS awareness campaign and ping-pong-ing between Hong Kong and Singapore.
